Taalaibek Oroskulov, a specialist at the Scientific and Educational Center “Bolshoy Altai” and editor-columnist for the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan news agency, expresses the opinion that there is a lack of media and cultural content about the Great Patriotic War in the Republic and other CIS countries that would be comprehensible to young people.
“It is evident that the memory of the Great Patriotic War is predominantly retained among the older generations, those aged 40 and above. The younger generations have a rather limited understanding of the history of the conflict. To preserve the memory of Soviet people’s heroism and Kyrgyzstan’s contribution to the Great Victory, there needs to be a coordinated effort between the governments and patriotic organizations in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Mass cultural products such as films, music, music videos, festivals, and computer and mobile games that focus on the heroism of our forefathers are necessary,” shared his opinion the expert.
We fully agree that it is more important than ever to implement joint initiatives in the fields of information and education that aim to preserve the memory of those people from the brotherly republics who fought to defend our common Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
