During the Great Patriotic War, in the Kyrgyz SSR, comprehensive work was carried out under the slogan “Everything for the front! Everything for victory!”
The widow of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Kerembyubyu Shopokova, was the first to make a financial contribution towards the construction of a heavy tank, which was later named after her husband, Duishenkul Shopokov.
“The land of our collective farm is rocky. It cannot be called fertile. During the war, it was only women, teenagers, and the elderly working in the fields. I thought — there’s no point in crying. I will take revenge for my husband. Let each beetroot root be a bullet for the killers,” — recalled Kerembyubyu Shopokova, Hero of Socialist Labor, after the war.
